Talk at Gathering of Cancer Patients and Survivors
At MAXAble Global (CIC), we are deeply honored to have participated in an inspiring event organized by the Asian Women Cancer Group. Our founder had the privilege of sharing her personal journey and insights on the transformative role that creativity plays in the healing process.
Speaking to a group of cancer patients and survivors was a profoundly humbling experience, one that reinforced the connection between creative expression and mental wellness. The interactive session fostered an open dialogue about how creativity, in its many forms—whether through art, writing, music, or other expressive outlets—can offer significant benefits on the path to healing. Among these were:
- Solace during challenging times
- Emotional processing through self-expression
- Boosted self-confidence and renewed self-worth
- Mindfulness and focus on the present moment
- Reigniting identity beyond the label of “patient”
Through this exchange, we saw no disempowered individuals, but rather resilient warriors and inspiring creators who used creativity as a source of strength and self-discovery.
The experience served as a powerful reminder of the importance of embracing creativity in overcoming life’s challenges. We left the event humbled and grateful for the opportunity to hold space for vulnerability, connection, and healing.
